Update (July 2, 2025): We've locked in new dates for our Yellowstone trip: Monday, September 28 - Saturday, October 3, 2026.
Same incredible program, same epic scenery -- now with cooler temps and those dreamy fall views!
Our Agency has secured two private cabins (with three rooms each), so space is extremely limited -- just six family spots total.
Registration opens Thursday, July 10, 2025 and it's first-come, first-served.
If Yellowstone is on your homeschool bucket list, don't wait -- these spots will go fast!

Previous Update (June 30, 2025): Due to unexpected high demand at Yellowstone National Park, our original planned dates of September 14-19, 2026 are no longer available. A large group event has since filled the cabins for that week -- a surprise to all of us!
We are actively working to secure new dates and will push back registration to next week to allow families time to review the updated schedule once it's confirmed. Please note that only 6 rooms are available, and we do expect the trip to sell out quickly once the new dates are released.
Thank you for your understanding as we adapt to Yellowstone's popularity!

Please note: unless you have a rental car, this will be your only opportunity to get food/supplies during the trip.
Afternoon – Arrival and check-in to cabins inside Yellowstone National Park.
5:00 PM – 7:00 PM – Welcome session with Yellowstone Forever instructors, including: Introduction to Yellowstone and review of the itinerary and safety guidelines.
Meals Included: None

Day 2 - Tuesday, September 29, 2026
Geysers, Hot Springs, & Mudpots
7:00 AM - 3:00 PM: The group will depart to explore a unique thermal basin in Yellowstone. Through hikes around the basin, students will learn about the dynamic nature of the Yellowstone Volcano and how it affects life in Yellowstone. Students will use laser thermometers to compare features. Time permitting, students may visit additional geyser basins where they will observe other thermal features.
Meals Included: Breakfast & Lunch
6:00 AM - 3:00 PM: An early morning wildlife watching expedition along Yellowstone's Northern Range will start the day. By observing through spotting scopes and binoculars, students will learn about the ecology and behavior of many different animal species that call Yellowstone home. Mini-lessons will focus on the interconnectedness of the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem using the case study of Yellowstone wolves. The afternoon will be spent on a hike through Lamar Valley or the surrounding Northern Range and will include stops to examine the evidence animals leave behind such as tracks, scat, and fur.

Exploring Trophic Cascades
Day 6 - Saturday, October 3, 2026

Bears in Your Backyard
Day 4 - Thursday, October 1, 2026
The National Park Idea
7:00 AM - 3:00 PM:
The grizzly bear is one of North America's most respected carnivores. Expansive home ranges and a slow reproductive rate make bears vulnerable to human-caused mortality across agency boundaries. This day will include a morning of wildlife watching to examine the great bear's fascinating biology and ecology. Through discussions and mini-lessons, instructors will present information on historical bear management in the park, and the challenges of living with bears today. Students will also participate in discussion and debate on the current grizzly bear delisting.
Meals Included: Breakfast & Lunch
6:00 AM - 4:00 PM: By exploring various historical sites within the park, instructors will paint the picture of Yellowstone's human history. On an afternoon hike, students will discuss management issues within the park while exploring the National Park Service's "dual mandate". Your instructor will also facilitate a "where do we go from here?" conversation about the importance of parks and preservation. If time allows, students may explore the legacy of artist Thomas Moran and others who influenced the creation of the world's first national park by creating their own paintings of a scenic Yellowstone location.
Meals Included: Breakfast & Lunch
Families will stay at Yellowstone's Overlook Field Campus in two cabins. We have rooms that accommodate up to 4 or up to 6 guests.
Due to the bunk-style layout of the cabins, rooms are sold as a unit -- not per person.

While Gardiner, MT is only about 15 minutes away and has grocery options, there is no shuttle access to town during the trip. Families without a rental car should not rely on taxi/Uber/Lyft, though Old Faithful and Friends Taxi might be available in a pinch. We strongly recommend renting a vehicle if you anticipate needing to leave campus.
Cabin Comforts
Each cabin includes: washer & dryer, wifi, linens, towels, and toilet paper.
Families should bring their own toiletries such as shampoo, body wash, and personal hygiene items.
Campus Guidelines
Volunteer caretakers live on-site and they will help orient you to the Overlook campus.
Quiet hours are observed from 10pm to 6am.
An emergency phone is available all hours outside the caretakers' cabin. Verizon is the only cell phone provider currently providing reliable coverage at the campus.
Smoking and firearms are not allowed in the cabins.
Wildlife Awareness
Wildlife is abundant -- you may see bison, wolves, elk, and deer right from your cabin. You may also see rattlesnakes.
Please exercise caution and notify someone of your plans if you will be away from campus alone.
Children should always have an adult with them outside, and even adults are advised to travel in groups of two or more when exploring the area.

Room Availability & Reservation Policy
Because space is so limited, rooms will be assigned based on the time we receive completed deposit-request forms -- not emails, calls, or messages.
How to request your spot:
Click any “We Want to Go To Yellowstone!” button on this page. You’ll be taken to a secure Registration Form where you’ll enter details for your family and provide credit card information. Submitting the form authorizes us to charge your full room deposit within 24–48 hours, if space is available.
Don’t worry if you don’t have all your guest names yet.
The form secures the room for your family -- you’ll have up until final payment to invite others to join you, if you choose.
We’re always happy to answer questions, but please note that your place is only held once the form is submitted. We can’t hold spots via phone or email.
If the trip fills, we’ll keep a waitlist in case of cancellations.
Cabin Assignment
We will begin filling the Brown Cabin first. Once all three rooms in Brown are reserved, we’ll open the Davis Cabin. While we hope to fill both, there is no guarantee we’ll reach the second cabin -- so the earlier you reserve, the better.
Travel Protection Coverage
All families will be offered two levels of Travel Protection, including a “Cancel for Any Reason” (CFAR) policy. Full details and pricing will be provided in your deposit confirmation. While travel protection is highly recommended, it is not required. However, we do strongly advise families to have active health insurance coverage during travel.

- Initial room deposit will be charged within 24-48 hours of your form submission (pending room availability)

Click any “We Want to Go To Yellowstone!” button on this page. You’ll be taken to a secure Registration Form where you’ll enter details for your family and provide credit card information. Submitting the form authorizes us to charge your full room deposit within 24–48 hours, if space is available.

If the trip fills, we’ll keep a waitlist in case of cancellations.
What happens if we're added to the waitlist?
If a room with your requested occupancy becomes available, we’ll contact you by phone and email to see if you're still interested in the trip.
If so, we’ll ask you to resubmit the deposit-request form with current credit card information. Your spot is only confirmed once that payment is processed.
Please note: This trip has four mandatory payment plan dates, so if you're added from the waitlist later, you'll need to be paid up to date to secure your room.
Overview & Intended Audience
Who is this trip designed for?
This trip is designed for homeschooling families who want to combine travel and education. While there's no minimum age to attend, the content and pace are best suited for learners ages 8+.
Is this a guided sightseeing tour?
Nope! This is an educational immersion. Think hands-on science and real-world learning, not a hop-on-hop-off tour bus. Students will be engaging with experts, asking questions, collecting data, and exploring alongside instructors. The full itinerary can be seen above.
How does transportation to daily activities work? Can we use our own vehicles?
The group shuttle buses will transport families to and from each day’s events. If you have your own vehicle, you’re welcome to follow the buses so you can do your own thing after the scheduled day ends.
Please note: For safety and coordination, the shuttle buses will only bring students or families back to the lodge early in case of an emergency. Otherwise, everyone is expected to return with the group as scheduled.
Bus naps are strongly encouraged!
Is this trip physically demanding?
Yes — to a degree. There will be walking and hiking, sometimes on uneven terrain or in varying weather. Families with mobility concerns should reach out before registering.
Can grandparents or extended family join?
Yes! While this trip is designed with homeschooling families in mind, it is not restricted to just homeschoolers. As long as everyone has their own bed and bus seat. This can be a great intergenerational experience for curious, active learners.
What if someone joins us -- even if we didn’t tell you about them or pay for them?
To protect the integrity of this experience (which is a special opportunity made possible through our partnership with Yellowstone Forever) every single traveler must be registered and fully paid for in advance. That includes babies, toddlers, grandparents, and anyone else hoping to come along.
Because this is a field-based educational program with strict limits on group size, lodging, and transportation, we cannot accommodate unregistered guests, even at the last minute. If you’re considering adding someone, just reach out before the final payment deadline so we can do our best to help.
Pricing, Payments, & What's Included
What’s included in this trip?
✔️ 5-nights lodging inside Yellowstone National Park
✔️ Four days of Yellowstone Forever programming
✔️ Roundtrip group shuttle from Bozeman Airport
✔️ 4 breakfasts and 4 lunches
✔️ All associated taxes and fees – there are no hidden charges!
What is NOT included?
🚫 Flights or transportation to Bozeman Airport
🚫 Dinners
🚫 Meals on Day 1 and Day 6
🚫 Travel Protection
How does cabin pricing work?
Rooms are sold as a unit, not per person. Each bed costs $915.00. To get the best value, fill your room to its max occupancy or invite a friend to join! (Rooms fit either 4 or 6 people.)
What if we don’t have enough people to fill the room’s max occupancy?
You’re still welcome to book a room with fewer people — just remember pricing is based on the full room. You might want to invite friends or extended family to join. We will not facilitate families in finding others to join them.
Why are there four mandatory payment deadlines?
Because this is a private group trip, our business is financially responsible for the total cost -- whether all families attend or not. These scheduled payments help keep everyone on track and ensure we’re able to meet our obligations on time. Your timely payments help protect the trip for the whole group and make it possible for this kind of unique experience to happen!
Will we get a discount if we don't use the roundtrip airport transfers?
No — because this is a bundled group package, the shuttle cost is built into the overall pricing and cannot be removed or refunded. You're welcome to make your own transportation arrangements, but opting out doesn’t reduce the total cost of the trip.
What if we need to cancel?
If you cancel your reservation, you will be subject to the cancellation penalties outlined below. However, if another family is able to take your place, you will receive a full refund minus a $150 per bed administrative fee—this refund will only be issued once the replacement family has paid in full up to the current payment deadline.
Cabin Life & Meals
Can we request a specific cabin or room?
We’ll do our best, but cabin assignments are based on availability and the order of paid deposits. We’ll fill the Brown Cabin first. If enough interest is shown, we’ll open the Davis Cabin. There’s no guarantee both cabins will fill.
What should we bring?
Linens, towels, and toilet paper will be provided in each lodge, but families should bring their own toiletries such as shampoo, body wash, and personal hygiene items. While the trip includes 4 breakfasts and 4 lunches, families are responsible for providing snacks and dinners for all nights. To help with this, we will make a grocery stop at Albertson’s on the way from the airport to the lodges. For daily excursions, it’s recommended that each family bring a backpack, water bottles, sunglasses, and sunscreen. Because Yellowstone’s weather can be unpredictable, packing layered clothing, waterproof outerwear, sturdy hiking boots, and comfortable off-duty footwear is highly advised.
Can two people share a bed or a bus seat?
Every attendee, regardless of age, must have their own assigned bed and bus seat. For safety and comfort, no sharing is permitted.
What foods can we expect for breakfast and lunch?
Breakfast comes with orange juice and a rotating selection of options such as a lox bagel (everything bagel with cream cheese, capers, and spinach), overnight oats (with weekly flavor variations), a fruit parfait with yogurt, granola, berries, and a large muffin, avocado toast with bacon and goat cheese (two slices), or breakfast sandwiches.
Lunch features a sandwich, fruit, chips, and a baked good. Sandwich choices include turkey, ham, roast beef, tuna salad, chicken salad, or peanut butter and jelly. A vegetarian option (caprese with mozzarella, tomato, and basil) and a rotating protein grain bowl are also available.
Are you able to accommodate different dietary needs?
Yellowstone Forever is able to accommodate a variety of dietary needs, including vegan and gluten-free options. However, please note that kosher meals are not available at this time. If you have specific dietary restrictions or concerns, please let us know in advance so we can do our best to accommodate you.
Transportation, Travel, & On-the-Ground Logistics
What’s the best airport to fly into?
Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport (BZN). The group shuttle departs from here at 1:30PM on Day 1. Your flight must arrive by 12:30PM to ensure you have enough time to collect your luggage and get on the transfer. There is only 1 transfer time. Should your family be delayed, you will need to find your own way to Yellowstone. Should your family not be able to find suitable morning flights, it is advised that you fly in 1 day prior and get a pre-night hotel in Bozeman.
Can we arrive early or stay late in Yellowstone?
This group booking only includes the dates listed in the itinerary. If you'd like to extend your stay before or after the program, let us know and we can help book independent accommodations nearby.
Will we have free time to explore on our own?
Some! Learning days run roughly 7 AM to 3 PM. You’ll have evenings free, but unless you have your own vehicle, exploration will be limited to the area around the cabins.
We’ll be flying in — what if we need to run errands or get groceries?
Rental cars are highly encouraged. There is no reliable rideshare or taxi service between the cabins and Gardiner, MT (the nearest town). A small taxi company exists, but shouldn’t be relied on — a rental car is your best option.
What happens if there's inclement weather?
Yellowstone’s weather can be unpredictable — rain, snow, sun, and everything in between. Unless conditions are dangerous, all programming will continue as scheduled, rain or shine. The Yellowstone Forever educators are trained to adapt safely, so your family will still get the full experience. We strongly recommend bringing appropriate gear (think layers, waterproof jackets, and sturdy shoes) so you're comfortable no matter what the skies decide to do!
What if we don’t have Verizon?
Verizon is the only provider with reliable service at the cabins. Wi-Fi is available but may be slow due to the remote location. Be sure to communicate with friends or family before you arrive.
What happens in case of a medical emergency?
The closest clinic is in Gardiner, about 15 minutes away by car. For serious emergencies, a phone is available 24/7 outside the caretaker’s cabin. Verizon is the only reliable cell provider at the campus.
Communication & Support
Who do I contact with questions before the trip?
You’ll have direct access to me -- not a call center. I’m here to support you through every step of planning. (Once you're booked, you'll also get trip reminders and prep materials.)
Security Alert:
EVERYONE AGE 18 YEARS AND OLDER IS REQUIRED TO TRAVEL WITH A VALID, GOVERNMENT-ISSUED PHOTO ID.
All visitors to Yellowstone's National Park are to abide by the Park's safety and security guidelines. These rules help protect both visitors and the park's unique wildlife and environment. Failure to follow park regulations can result in fines or removal from the park.
You can find full park policies and regulations here, but here are some key notes:
Wildlife is wild - never approach or feed animals. Stay at least 100 yards from bears and wolves, and 25 yards from all other wildlife.
No drones are permitted anywhere in the park.
Stay on boardwalks and marked trails, especially in thermal areas. The ground can be dangerously unstable.
Follow the Leave No Trace principles; pack out all trash and leave natural features undisturbed.

Included with this trip: 5-nights lodging inside Yellowstone National Park, 4-days of Yellowstone Forever programming, round-trip group shuttle from Bozeman Airport, 4 breakfasts, 4 lunches, and all associated taxes and fees (there are no hidden charges).
Not included with this trip: Flights or transportation to Bozeman Airport, dinners, meals on Day 1 and Day 6, Travel Protection.
The activities will occur regardless of weather, so plan for all conditions.
All guest names must be submitted to us no later than the final payment date.
